Henry "Harry" Patch (born June 17, 1898) is, at age 109, one of the last three surviving British veterans of the First World War still living in the country. He is, as of 2007, the last surviving Tommy to have served on the Western Front. Before the Great War he worked as an apprentice plumber in Bath. In the Great War, Patch was conscripted into the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry. He was a private at the Third Battle of Ypres. Wikipedia
