Helen Cooper is Professor of Medieval and Renaissance English at the University of Cambridge, and fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge. She was the first female fellow at University College, Oxford. Before she accepted the position at the University of Cambridge, she was chair of the Oxford English faculty.
