Higuchi Ichiyō is the pen name of Japanese author Higuchi Natsu (樋口奈津 "Higuchi Natsu"), also known as Higuchi Natsuko (樋口夏子 "Higuchi Natsuko"). Higuchi was born in Meiji era Tokyo of samurai lineage.
