Isaac ben Judah or Yitzchak ben Yehuda Abravanel was a Jewish statesman, philosopher, Bible commentator, and financier. He was a scion of the Abravanel family. In many works he is referred to solely by his last name, which is variously spelled as Abravanel, Abarbanel, and Abrabanel.
