Joseph "Lightning Joe" Lawton Collins (1 May 1896 - 12 September 1987) was a general of the United States Army. During World War II, he served in both the Pacific and European Theaters of Operations. His brother James Lawton Collins was also in the army as a Major General. His nephew, Michael Collins, would become famous for being the Command Module Pilot on the "Apollo 11" mission in 1969 that saw the first two men on the Moon. Wikipedia
