Sir James Darling (1899/1900-1996) was an Australian educator. He served as Head Master of Geelong Church of England Grammar School from 1930 until 1961. During this time he set up Timbertop and was a founder of the Australian College of Education and the Headmasters' Conference. after which he was for several years Chairman of the Australian Broadcasting Commission. In retirement he wrote often for newspapers and published his own books. Wikipedia
