James's sister ``Aunt Jane'' died about the same time as his wife. As a result the eldest daughter Jane had to give up her teaching career to look after the family. James was married for a second time to Isabella Taylor (c.1857-1924) who owned a farm in Upper Gransha, Islandmagee. Isabella was a direct descendant of patriarchal Milliken family and her farm had belonged to the Millikens for many years (see ``History of Islandmagee'', page 130). dankat
