Writer Jeff Koyen was born in 1969 in suburban New Jersey. He has lived in Philadelphia, New York City, and Prague. From 1994-2001, he produced Crank Magazine. In 2000, he founded the website 100 Words. After travelling in Europe, he was hired as editor of the "New York Press". In 2005, he quit in response to a two-week suspension.
