General Jehangir Karamat was Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States from November 2004 to 2006. He is also one of very few Chiefs of Army Staff to have resigned over a disagreement with his civilian superiors. General Karamat is a graduate of the National Defence College, the Command and Staff College, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, U.S.A.
