Jim Plummer was appointed dean of the School of Engineering at Stanford in 1999. He is the Frederick Emmons Terman Professor of Engineering and the John M. Fluke Professor of Electrical Engineering. Before becoming dean, he served as the chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has been at Stanford for over 30 years, having earned both his master's and doctoral degrees from Stanford in 1967 and 1971, respectively. soe.stanford.edu
