Jimmy Slyde (b. James T. Godbolt), who is known as the "King of Slides," is a world-renowned tap dancer, especially famous for his innovative tap style mixed with jazz. Slyde was born circa 1927 in Atlanta, Georgia. His family then moved to Boston, where he grew up.
