(June 6, 1912-February 15, 1980) was the pen name of popular Japanese historical novelist. After reetirement in Japan Meteorological Agency, he got at writing. Originally a meteorologist, he wrote mainly on themes connected with mountains. His works include "Death March on Mount Hakkoda" (based on an incident in 1902 in the Hakkoda mountain range) and "Alaskan Tale". Wikipedia
