John D. Wiley is the current chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was named 28th Chancellor the University on November 10, 2000, having been selected over finalists Nancy Cantor, then Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the University of Michigan (now Chancellor of Syracuse University), and Susan Westerberg Prager, then Provost of Dartmouth College (now President of Occidental College).
