John Herschel Glenn Jr. (born July 18, 1921, in Cambridge, Ohio) is an American astronaut, Marine Corps fighter pilot, ordained Presbyterian elder, corporate executive, and politician. He was the third American to fly in space and the first American to orbit the Earth, aboard Friendship 7. He is the oldest living person to have flown in space when, at the age of 77 in 1998, flew aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery mission STS-95. Wikipedia
