John Hood (3 December 1859 - 11 February 1919) was an admiral of the United States Navy during World War I. He was also a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Hood was born in Florence, Ala., 3 December 1859. He was appointed to the United States Naval Academy in 1875, and graduated from the Naval Academy, second in his class.
