John Howell (born April 28, 1978, in North Platte, Nebraska) is a National Football League safety. He is currently a free agent. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for four seasons prior to the 2005 season, and for the Seattle Seahawks during the 2006 season. He suffered a season ending hamstring injury in a playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys and was waived the following Wednesday.
