John Peter Huchra (born December 23, 1948) is an American astronomer and professor. He is the Vice Provost for Research Policy at Harvard University and a Professor of Astronomy at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. He is the current chair of the US National Committee for the International Astronomical Union (until 2007). In 1989, he discovered the Great Wall with Margaret Geller based on redshift survey data from the CfA Redshift Survey. Wikipedia
