John Ossino was born on Jan. 6, 1932, in Omaha, Neb. He attended Conception Seminary in Missouri, and Rosary College and Loyola University in Chicago. He entered the Benedictine order and took the name Angelo when he professed vows in 1953. He was ordained a Benedictine priest on April 6, 1957. Early in his ministry he served in education in Maryville, Mo. , Covington, La. , and Kansas City, Mo. , and as an associate pastor in Conception. archden.org
