John Swinburne (May 30, 1820 - March 28, 1889) was a U.S. Representative from New York. Born at Deer River, New York, Swinburne attended the public schools and academies in Denmark and Lowville, Lewis County, and in Fairfield, Herkimer County. He was graduated from the Albany Medical College in 1847 and commenced practice as a physician and surgeon. During the Civil War was appointed a medical officer. Wikipedia
