John de Sandford (d. October 2, 1294), archbishop of Dublin. He was probably an illegitimate son of the baronial leader, Gilbert Basset (d. 1241), or of his brother Fulk Basset, bishop of London from 1241 until his death in 1259, a prelate who was prominent during the troubles of Henry III's reign. John was a nephew of Sir Philip Basset (d. 1271), the justiciar. Wikipedia
