Jonathan Lynn (born April 3, 1943) is an English actor, comedy writer, and director. Born in Bath, England, Lynn was educated at Kingswood School, Bath (1954-1961) after which he studied Law at the University of Cambridge (where his uncle, Israeli statesman Abba Eban studied also), where he participated in the Cambridge University Footlights Club revue " Cambridge Circus" (appearing with the revue on Broadway and on The Ed Sullivan Show, in 1964).
