Blessed Joseph Vaz (April 21, 1651 at Benaulim - January 16, 1711, Kandy) was a Catholic Jesuit priest from Goa. He is known as "Apostle of Ceylon". He arrived in Sri Lanka at a time of strong Calvinistic propaganda going on in the island, and the Catholic religion proscribed and under persecution.
