Joseph Wilbrand was a German chemist. He discovered trinitrotoluene in 1863, but the compound's use as an explosive was not developed until later. In 1863, he made a breakthrough in field of thermo chemistry by inventing trinitrotoluene or TNT which was obtained by the nitration of toluene.In 1860, the Prussian E.Schulz aimed at making an agent siles.
