Leon Bass (born 1925) is an educator from Pennsylvania. He is noted for speaking of his experiences as an African-American soldier in World War II who witnessed the Buchenwald concentration camp. Bass was born and grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He volunteered for the US Army during World War II, trained in Arkansas and Texas, and served in the 183rd Engineer Combat Battalion, a segregated unit. Wikipedia
