Les Brown, born 1945 in Liberty City, Florida, is a motivational speaker and author. Born a twin in low-income Liberty City in Miami, Florida, Les and his twin brother, Wes, were adopted when they were six weeks old by Mrs. Mamie Brown. He won the Council of Peers Award of Excellence from the National Speakers Association in 1987, its highest honor.
