Lieutenant General Lincoln D. Faurer was director of the National Security Agency and chief, Central Security Service from 1981 to 1985. Faurer was born in 1928 in Medford, Massachusetts. He graduated from Central High School in Philadelphia in 1945 and attended Cornell University.
