Lucian Gillis graduated in 1974 with a B.S. from the University of Alabama, and in 1977 with a J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law. He began his law practice as a Deputy District Attorney in Birmingham Alabama. In 1980, he entered private practice in Mobile, Alabama.
