Lucy Caroline Cavendish, née Lyttelton was the wife of the assassinated Chief Secretary for Ireland, Lord Frederick Cavendish, and a pioneer of women's education. Lucy Cavendish College, Cambridge is named after her. Born into the aristocracy, she became a Maid of Honour to Queen Victoria in 1863.
