Maria Edgeworth (January 1, 1767-May 22, 1849) was an Anglo-Irish novelist. Maria Edgeworth was born at Black Bourton, Oxfordshire, the second child of Richard Lovell Edgeworth and Anna Maria Edgeworth nee Elders.
