Mark Steven Schweiker (born January 31 1953) was the governor of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2003. Schweiker, a Republican, become 44th Governor of Pennsylvania on October 5 2001, when his predecessor, Tom Ridge resigned as Governor of Pennsylvania to assume the role of Homeland Security director under President George W.
