Mats Lidström is a cellist currently living in London. In 1993 he was appointed professor at the Royal Academy of Music in 1993 by Lynn Harrell (an Honorary Associate awarded in 1998), where he continues to teach. He began his own education in Sweden at Gothenburg University and studied under Leonard Rose and Channing Robbins at the Juilliard School of Music, New York.
