Mel Mermelstein is a Hungarian-born Jew, sole-survivor of his family's extermination at Auschwitz concentration camp who defeated the Institute for Historical Review in an American court and had the occurrence of gassings in Auschwitz during the Holocaust declared a legally incontestable fact. Before World War II broke out, Mermelstein lived in Munkacs, in Ukraine. On May 19, 1944 he was deported to Auschwitz along with the rest of the Jewish community. Wikipedia
