Michael Egan (21 February 1948) is a former union official and former Labor politician who served as New South Wales Treasurer from 1995, when the Carr Government came to power, until his resignation on 18 January 2005. His stated reason for resigning was that, 'after 35 years of political combat, I think it's time for me to move on'.
