Mike A. Males (born 1950) is an American sociologist who taught for five years through 2006 at the UC Santa Cruz. He is best known for his book "Scapegoat Generation", which analyzes statistics to dispel many popular myths about youth in the 1990s. He has proven, for example, that curfew laws actually raise crime rates amoung youth and, in a study Males conducted, proved that raising the drinking age actually increases the rate of drunk driving.
