Mitch Snyder (1946 - July 3 or 4, 1990) was an American advocate for the homeless. He was the subject of a 1986 biopic "Samaritan: The Mitch Snyder Story". Snyder worked in advertising on Madison Avenue in New York City in the early 1960s. At some point he left his wife and children and started hitchhiking west.
