Ottfried Nippold was a German-Swiss jurist and pacifist. Nippold was a son of Professor Friedrich Nippold of the University of Jena. He attended Gymnasium in Burgdorf and in Berne and studied law at the Universities of Berne, Halle, Tübingen and Jena. At the latter, he earned his doctorate in 1886. He became a judge in Weimar. In 1889, he was invited for three years to teach at the Law School of the Society for German Sciences in Tokyo. Wikipedia
