Padmasambhava (Ch: 蓮華生上師, Pinyin: "Lian Hua Sheng Shang Shi"; Tib: "Pema Jungne", Wylie: "padma 'byung gnas"), in Sanskrit meaning "lotus-born", is said to have brought Tantric Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century.
