Patrick John Nuttgens CBE(March 2, 1930 - March 15, 2004) was an English architect and academic. Patrick Nuttgens was raised in Pigotts Hill, near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, one of 12 children. His father was stained-glass artist Joseph Nuttgens. His mother died when he was 7. One day, when he was 12 and a student at Ratcliffe College, he walked off the rugby pitch with a terrible pain in his back and, within a day, was paralyzed from the chest down with poliomyelitis.
