Pedro A. Sanchez (b. 1940), is a Cuban-American soil scientist. He is Director of the Program on Tropical Agriculture at Columbia University and previously taught at North Carolina State University. He went to South America and Africa to implement soil fertility practices that were sustainable and economically viable for impoverished farmers.
