Peter D. Keisler (born October 13, 1960 in Hempstead, New York) is an Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Civil Division at the U.S. Department of Justice and a current nominee for a position as a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He was first nominated for the position on June 29, 2006 by President George W. Bush to fill a seat vacated by John Roberts, whom Bush elevated to Chief Justice of the United States. Wikipedia
