Peter Steele (born Peter Ratajczyk on January 4 1962 in Brooklyn, New York, USA) is the lead singer, bassist, and composer for the gothic-doom band Type O Negative. He is a resident of Brooklyn, New York. Steele's bass voice sets much of the mood for Type O Negative's brooding melodies.
