Philip Caputo (born June 10 1941) is an American author and journalist. He is best-known for "A Rumor of War", a best-selling memoir of his experiences during the Vietnam War. Caputo was born in Westchester, Illinois and attended Fenwick High School and Loyola University Chicago. He now resides in Norwalk, Connecticut and Patagonia, Arizona. In 1965, as an infantry lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps, he was deployed to South Vietnam. He returned to the U.S. in 1966. Wikipedia
