Prince Hall (c.1735 - December 4, 1807) is considered the founder of "Black Freemasonry" in the United States, known today as Prince Hall Freemasonry. Prince Hall is claimed to have been born in the British West Indies, Bridgetown, Barbados on September 12, 1748, moving to Boston at a later date, sometime before 1775.
