Robert Bathurst (born 1958, Ghana) is a British actor. He moved to Ireland when he was three. He became president of the Cambridge Footlights, and studied law in London. His first major television role was as sitcom writer Mark Taylor in "Joking Apart". The show was punctuated by fantasy sequences (see image) in which his character performed his thoughts as a stand-up routine in a small club.
