Robert Engel Machol (1917 - November 12, 1998) was an American systems engineer and expert in the fields of operations research and systems engineering. Machol graduated from Harvard University in 1940 and enlisted in the United States Marines. In 1958 he obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Michigan.
