Robert Froriep was a German physician and Rudolf Virchow's (1821-1902) mentor when Froriep was Prosector at the Charité Hospital in Berlin. He held this position from 1833 until 1846. In 1846 Froriep became director of the "Weimarischer Landes-Industrie-Comptoir" in Weimar, where he was publisher of illustrated scientific and medical works.
