Ruby Laffoon (January 15, 1869 - March 1, 1941) was a Democratic Party Governor of Kentucky from 1931 - 1935. In the election he beat William B. Harrison and won with 54.3% of the vote. Laffoon was born, died and buried in Madisonville, Kentucky. During his term as Governor, he created a state sales tax, set a record for the number of pardons and commissioned a record number of Kentucky Colonels; notably Colonel Sanders (KFC).
