Description:
Salomon Idler (born February 11, 1610, in Cannstatt; died probably 1669 in Augsburg) was a German shoemaker and a failed Augsburg aviation pioneer. At the time of his first and simultaneously last attempt to fly with two self-built wings on both arms, he lost control over his flying apparatus and plunged into a bridge, which collapsed under the force of the landing. Four chickens, which at this point in time were under the bridge, died. Wikipedia
