Sandra Hall Magnus is an American astronaut and veteran of a single space mission. Magnus was born and raised in Belleville, Illinois and earned degrees in physics and electrical engineering from the University of Missouri–Rolla before earning a doctorate in materials science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1996.
