Saülo Mercader starts carving and drawing at the age of 6. He learns the techniques of how to make moulds and casts in the famous studios called : « Fallas », in Alicante. It is in 1964 in Bilbao (The Basque Country) when his artistic career takes an important professional turn : he participates in various group exhibitions and makes One-man shows through which he gets to be well- known to the public.
